Where are you from originally?
I was born in former Soviet Union state of Azerbaijan. I grew up traveling a lot and have spent lots of my life in Kenya as well as Switzerland before finally moving to Canada 13 years ago.

How long have you been a photographer?
5 years.

How would you describe your style of photography?
My style is fairly modern. I do shoot rustic style weddings up north when I get to go up the mountains.

How do you work on the day (more posed, documentary style, natural, etc)?
I like to have a bit of a balance. I like more natural photos and try not to direct too much. I do plenty of candids and stay out of people's way. But I will still do some staged shots, especially for formals and if I get a chance to catch a sunset. I like to also do fun and silly photos. People like to have fun at their weddings and to be silly with their friends.

How much post production do you do? What is your style (saturated colours, muted tones, or very natural)?
I have a fairly high contrast look in my photos. Lots of them are shot outside where there's nature and I think it's worth highlighting the colors. I do similar with black and white photos to give a more dramatic look and to highlight the moment and emotions displayed. But I'm also flexible, different people have different preferences and ideas and I welcome that.

What’s the most unique photo you’ve taken at a wedding?
It's hard to answer. I think all weddings are unique and face expressions I captured all seem unique to me. Moments of kids playing or couple sharing of feelings. Romantic sunset moments. I really don't rank my work. Art is subjective.
